The Hastings Co-op have engaged Andrew Ellem, a farm business consultant with five years previous experience as a Rural Financial Counsellor to provide a seminar on the Rural Assistance Authority (RAA) $75,000 Special Disaster Assistance (Floods) Primary Producer Grants.
The presentation is FREE and will be held at the Wauchope Country Club in the Auditorium (downstairs) on Tuesday, April 13 between 7pm to 9pm.
Andrew will outline grant guidelines, who is eligible, how the grant funds can be used, and will go through the application process.
Andrew indicated while the grants are for primary producers, eligibility is not as simple as that. One hurdle some farms struggle meeting is applicants "derive at least 50% of their gross income from the primary production enterprise" particularly when off farm income is strong. However, there are exemptions in some circumstances that he will cover.
Andrew will also touch on other key government assistance such as RAA loans and RAA Transport Subsidy and Services Australia Disaster Relief Payment, Disaster Recovery Allowance and Farm Household Allowance.
