Each of our three Hastings Co-op IGA stores - two in Wauchope and one inPort Macquarie - is fully owned and operated locally by Hastings Co-operative Ltd, so our customers know that profits are staying in their own community.

Hastings Co-op Supermarkets Division works under the IGA (Independent Grocers of Australia) banner. This allows us the flexibility of independent ownership and operation, while still having the advantages that come from the buying power and knowledge of the world’s largest voluntary supermarket network.

Our Operational Standards and Ethos

Our Hastings Co-op logo, supported by the IGA logo, represents a very high standard of operational consistency and a promise of service excellence that our customers rely on. We will go the extra mile to meet our customer’s needs, for example by offering an extensive gluten free range and by sourcing other special needs products wherever possible. All you have to do is ask one of our staff. And our customers always know that by shopping with us they are helping to contribute to their local community.

Our Community Chest Program

With the help of the IGA Community Chest program, the Hastings Co-op IGA stores in Wauchope and Port Macquarie have returned over $100,000 dollars back into the community. During 2009, the Community Chest program has been extended to give customers the choice of which local group they would like to receive the Community Chest dollars that are generated when they shop at their Hastings Coop IGA supermarket.
